STANDOUT TRACK: Murmurs from the Void
5/10 CRUSHED FUCKING SKULLS

This band comes from Canada with their second full length after returning to action after a spate of demos in the 1990s. Their style is almost thrash-like, more like some death metal from the 1980s, which is a nice change of pace for my ears. The vocals themselves are very much like the late 80's death metal vocalists, with an almost yelled delivery, with a tinge of a growl. It reminds me overall of the more mid-paced offerings from Sodom with a death metal edge. The structures of the songs are fine, but the music lacks some intensity, except on the one standout song I mentioned, and sections of others. It's just not consistent. I just had a hard time getting into this even though it sounds quite different from the recent wave of death metal releases I've checked out. It's just a bit too soft-pedaled for me in the death metal department. Thrashers take note, though, you might dig it.
