BADASS SHORT DESCRIPTION: Thrash with fuckin' SACK!

This is what Justin from Hells Headbangers would tell us is "thrash with sack," and I could think of no better description for this demo! They tag themselves first on Bandcamp with the term "brutal thrash metal," and that aptly describes this blistering piece of death thrash madness. Their style is reminiscent of Devastation (Texas), and you can see the worship in the logo and the name of the demo. I love that they're wearing this influence loud, proud, and obvious. Someone has to carry the torch for serious death thrash, and I'm happy it's this bunch of Australians, because they do it right! And, of course, Idolatry is the name of my favorite Devastation record of all time, a record that both stands the test of time and has inspired so many over the years.

They differ from other (slower and weaker) death thrash bands due to their proficient, tight playing, and they bring the death growls and blast beats to add some extra badass to the mix. I like what they did, leaning into the death metal side of things, and it makes them stand out from the pack. The recording itself is good, but not over-polished, which I wouldn't want for this band, even though they'd be fine either way. I just prefer a little mud in the mix with this style, which this has in the best possible way. The riffs they wield on this demo are fuckin' aggressive, vicious things, made to snap necks and smash heads on the stage, and all the rest of the band follow suit, bringing total aggression to the performance. They've done a killer job here for a group of young guys, and I can't wait to see what's next. I'll be buying the tape when it comes out!
