7/10 CRUSHED FUCKING SKULLS

This is intense yet atmospheric Finnish death metal that focuses like all death metal recently on the sounds of the 1990s and reinterpreting them for today's audiences. It's a perfect mix of Swedish-style death metal and the 90s American scene, Florida in particular. The guitar sound has a bit of fuzz to it yet it remains crunchy. When they drop into a groove it's reminiscent of Dismember or Grave, but there's a lot of American influence here. Perhaps Massacre or even modern acts like 200 Stab Wounds. There are plenty of blastbeats lets you assume this is entirely a slower affair (it is emphatically not). Speed is something they do very well. This is worth grabbing if you want an authentic mix of the best of sounds the 1990s had to offer, in a modern context.
