From Chicago, Illinois comes this deathsquad, playing decent death metal, heavy on the Autopsy influence, but veering off into territories all their own. Unfortunately, up until they hit us with a blastbeat, this is fairly generic-sounding stuff albeit with maybe some doom or rock influences in the guitar playing, leading to some different textures and little oddball riffs. The middle to the end of the song "Speared Christ" is a good example of this different approach. But let's talk about this monster of a vocalist instead. He has a good, deep, powerful death growl and is probably the best thing about this record. He has a great voice. He's gold. I want to hear him on something much more intense than this and see if the magic holds. I think there's massive potential here for something special, if they would either lean into more intense death metal or lean the other way into a more experimental, doomed-out sound. I know I would prefer the intense route, but either way would separate them from the pack.
