Here we get proper brutal death metal on the band's first full length in nineteen years. Lust of Decay has only become better at what they do, and that is slightly technical brutal death with no trendy bullshit. There are tons of blasts, fills, and rolls - the drummer is relentless! They slow into a groove or a slam once in a while, and it's never a typical affair, but is rather kept interesting by little embellishments of the guitar or drums. Most bands can't summon these things to keep these parts musical, instead falling into the same old slam riff that every band in brutal death metal uses. Lust of Decay is different, and is better for it. Killer riffs abound and they keep the music totally intense. The vocals are delivered in a multitude of styles from growls to gutturals to yells, and they're quite rhythmic at times, with clear patterns. Lust of Decay has delivered possibly their best effort of their career on this record, and I look forward to seeing if we will get any more albums in the future. If not, they went out on a high note!
