Here's another excellent band from Adelaide, South Australia, the same town Hellstorm Apocalypse hails from. This is Morbid Angel and Krisiun style death metal with that trademark Australian ferocity that imbues so many bands from this land. There is perhaps a touch of Incantation influence at work here also, but only a bit. The first thing I notice is that the production is truly wonderful because instead of everything being totally brickwalled like so many releases today, it sounds natural and balanced. The vocals are low growls and patterned nicely in rhythmic fashion. The guitars fuckin' bulldoze everything in their path with powerful riff after powerful riff as big and as heavy as the monoliths on the album art. The bass doesn't always mimic the guitar - he's working also with the drums and even on his own, throwing in little runs here and there. The drummer is particularly fuckin' wild in the talent department. He's all over his kit with technical precision but also tying all the music together perfectly. This is one record I would recommend again and again to those who want extreme Satanic death metal, and it's worth the effort to find.
